Don’t ask me how my equation works just trust me that there will be skiing, snowboarding and fireworks on the 4th of July this year. How is this possible? Well my friends a few Tahoe resorts have announced that they will be open for skiing and snowboarding this 4ht of July! That is amazing, unless you have spent time at Whistler or Mt. Hood in the summer not many folks can say that they have skied or rode on the 4th…I for one had a pow day on the 4th one year. Anyways….with out further ado here are the resort that will be open that weekend.
Alpine Meadows Ski Resort will host the ultimate Independence Day celebration, offering skiing, snowboarding, and non-stop slopeside parties and live music from Saturday, July 2 through Monday, July 4, 2011. With record snowfall during winter 2010/2011, July’s snow supply is forecast to be abundant This is truly the summer to declare, “I skied Alpine on the Fourth of July.” Alpine is also doing a Facebook Fan quest and the more fans the cheaper the tickets are for the 4th. Squaw is still kicking around the idea. “We will certainly be examining the possibility of opening for July 4th, conditions permitting” -Andy Wirth, Squaw Valley Times
One thing that is for sure is that the Squaw Valley Cushing Crossing will take place on July 3rd, so that may be a good indicator that they will be open for the holiday weekend.
That’s right, we’re opening back up for a season passholder appreciation day on the 4th of July! All season passholders from 10/11 and 11/12 can come on up to ski or ride Disney from 8:30AM – 12:00PM. For more info click here.
