Review of the 2010 686 Smarty Original Cargo Pant

686 has been a leading brand in snowboard outerwear for quite some time. With one of their riders just making the Olympics, they are finally putting themselves on the map in terms of progressive team marketing. However innovative and creative they may be, they have always stood behind a quality product. I have ridden many brands of outerwear and once I found my tiny little legs in a 686 pant and my little guy arms in a 686 coat, I knew I was home to stay. I feel like it was very similar to the three little bears story. 686 outerwear is like a small, medium, and a large cup or porridge. Anyways, that is enough of my childhood metaphors. Let me introduce an amazing pant that has stayed consistent throughout the ages. The 686 Original Smarty Pant.

686 Smarty Original Cargo PantThe Original Smarty pant is founded on the true bases and the foundation of quality. This pant was designed to be an outerwear pant. With many brands competing for style and fashion, 686 has stayed true to the premise of a snowboarder- quality, warmth and dryness.  686 landed on a design that has outlasted and out played many other outerwear brands. The 686 Original Cargo is a Must for the snowboarder who just loves snowboarding. What are you going to get in the Original Cargo Pant?

The Original Cargo pant is first and foremost going to keep you warm. It is not a fully insulated pant but it does come with an extra zip in compatible sweat liner. It makes the pant bearable on a summer day, but toasty in the dead of winter. For the summer shredders, one can simply unzip the liner out and your soaking in the rays and feeling cool. Maybe you’ll get a babe too? The pant has 15,000 waterproofing and 10,000 breathability. It is warm and dry. One of the best things about this pant is the amount of storage you get to carry. Just because Old Navy is not in style anymore doesn’t mean that cargo pockets are not useful. The pant has an array of different pocket styles and storage room. Keep your keys, phone, wallet, purse (maybe), iPod, hand warmers, gloves and whatever other obscure items you can think of stored in your pants while maintaining the comfort of not having them pressed against your leg! The Original Cargo pant is truly a great buy. Read the rest of this entry »
